Plot
The President of the Italian Republic, Mariano De Santis, is elderly and nearing the end of his term. A widower, a former jurist and a deeply devout Catholic, he faces two final dilemmas: whether to grant a pardon to two people who committed a murder under circumstances that could be considered mitigating, and whether to promulgate the euthanasia law.
