Tom is a directionless tennis instructor at a luxurious island hotel, passing the time between lessons with alcohol and casual sexual encounters. His routine is disrupted by the arrival of the Maguire family: the attractive blonde Anne, her arrogant husband Dave, and their seven-year-old son Anton. Tom cannot shake the feeling that he has met Anne before. When Dave mysteriously disappears one night, Tom and Anne find themselves at the center of the investigation as the main suspects.
The sun-drenched neo-noir is directed by German filmmaker Jan-Ole Gerster, with the screenplay co-written by the late Slovenian screenwriter and director Blaž Kutin, who also wrote the script for Gerster’s previous feature Lara. The film premiered in the Berlinale Special Gala section.
