Story:
During her holiday adventures, Lučka uncovers the secrets of a key from a castle wall and of family ties. She is accompanied by her friend Jan, the dog Mandrin, and a funny goose. The film’s special aesthetic value comes from its cut-out or collage animation technique.
When nine-year-old Lučka arrives for the holidays in the small town where her mother grew up, she has no idea what awaits her. Her mother, an archaeologist, is leading excavations at the castle together with a colleague, while Lučka sets off to explore the surroundings with the dog Mandrin, a funny goose, and Jan, a kind boy from a nearby farm. In a nest on the castle wall they find a mysterious key, and in the forest they meet an old man who lives as a recluse and whom the locals call a wizard. They rescue a small badger, and all the while two tits accompany them – as if they were their guides… When they also discover a secret passage beneath the castle, hidden secrets begin to come to light.
The film is made using the collage or cut-out animation technique, which gives it a distinctive aesthetic quality.
