The Grand Prix of Slovenian Istria 2026 is coming to Izola
On Sunday, 22 March 2026, Izola will host the 12th Grand Prix of Slovenian Istria, an international UCI-category cycling race that attracts top professional teams and numerous cycling enthusiasts to Slovenian Istria every year.
The race, organised by the Cycling Federation of Slovenia, will start at 13:00 on Industrijska Street in Izola, which will also host the finish, expected around 17:00.
Race route
Cyclists will set off from Izola on a varied course that includes both the coastal area and the hinterland of Slovenian Istria. The race passes through:
Izola – Strunjan – Lucija – Sečovlje – Dragonja – Šmarje – Gažon – Baredi – Izola,
and concludes with several final laps in Izola.
Competitors will first complete 4 longer laps, followed by 3 shorter final laps in Izola, ensuring an exciting finish and multiple opportunities to watch the race in town.

A special traffic arrangement will be in place to ensure the safe execution of the event.

plan their routes in advance.
Despite traffic restrictions, the race will offer a top-level sporting experience and a lively atmosphere in the town, especially during the final laps in Izola.
