About Trees FOR Trees: along Kosovelova

The guided tour and discussion on trees will take place as a walk through the urban landscape of Izola, interwoven with the poetry of Srečko Kosovel, marking the 100th anniversary of his death.

The meeting point will be at the intersection of Kosovel Street and Cankar Avenue, from where the walk will continue along Kosovel Street. Participants will observe how green the streets and squares of Izola are, while reflecting on how residents experience their connection with trees and nature.

Through poetry, participants will explore the poet’s relationship to space and nature, and how his ideas can open up possibilities for a deeper and more compassionate way of living with the environment. The discussion will also address the concept of the dual understanding of space, reflected in this year’s Landscape Architecture Month slogan: “Knowledge of the landscape, knowledge in the landscape.”

The event is organised by Bela breza (Tina Trampuš), Valentina Fras, the Izola City Library, and the study circle “Trees Tell Stories.”
