Concert: 50th anniversary of The Haliaetum mixed choir
Location: Cultural Centre Izola
Organizer: Italian Community Pasquale Besenghi degli Ughi Isola
Time: 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm
The mixed choir "Haliaetum" of the Italian Community "Pasquale Besenghi degli Ughi" of Izola takes its name from the ancient Latin name of the Istrian town. The choir was founded in 1975 and has been active ever since. It regularly performs concerts in Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and Croatia.
Every year, the choir organizes the Spring Concert, dedicated to folk and secular music, and the International Choir Meeting, held in the autumn at the Church of St. Maurus and dedicated to sacred music. It also participates in the Friendship Concert, an annual opportunity to meet the Foltej Hartman Choir from Bleiburg and the Chamber Choir from Celje.
The Haliaetum choir carries with it the desire to continue singing together for many years to come, because "He who sings thinks no evil."
Since September 2024, the choir has been conducted by Maestro Giuliano Goruppi.
