Gabriele Steffe has in recent years established himself as one of the most prominent advocates of Ljubljana's alternative club scene. Under his DJ name gabi98, he moves at the intersection of underground (un)club electronica, world music, derivatives of sarcastic pop and the legacy of rave culture. With unpredictable sets, he rejects the normativity of contemporary hectic and hyperconnected lifestyles.
The flamboyant Ljubljana-based band Čao Portorož, consisting of Ivian Kan Mujezinović, Gregor Andolšek and Jan Kmet, combines the wild attitude of rock 'n' roll, the bitter sweetness of indie rock and danceable electronic twists, dictated by the decisive beats of the rhythm machine and infectious synth lines. Their music is a tribute to 90's alternative rock and new wave forms of the Jugo school.
