The band consists of Iztok Rodež (guitarist and composer), Dejan Berden (piano and synth), Tadej Kampl (electric bass and double bass) and Miran Celec (drums and percussion). Their debut album džaZZva conquered the Slovenian music scene in 2014 and was ranked among the top 20 Slovenian albums by the music editors of RTV Slovenia. They also released a recording of a concert from the Hidden Courtyard in Murska Sobota, Live From The Hidden Courtyard (2016). In 2018, the album Sintur was released. In July 2019, they performed at the renowned French jazz festival Jazz à Vienne. In 2020, they were awarded a plaque for significant cultural achievements in the last two years by the Municipality of Murska Sobota on the occasion of the cultural holiday.
The band has recently released a new album, entitled Clearness, comprising eight tracks. "Genre-wise, the album is hard to classify, but it is closer to fusion or progressive rock with a touch of jazz than to classic jazz or ethno jazz, which I think is the main difference compared to previous albums," said Jonatan Horvat on the occasion of the release. The title emphasises the foundations of their self-creation, i.e. spontaneity, unencumbered, unplanned, free flow of ideas. "We are not classical jazzers, far from it. Maybe we defined ourselves too much in the beginning with the name, but for us there are no limits, and we think as broadly as possible," says Rodež.
They will arrive in Izola on 24 June 2023, opening a series of musical performances in the Pietro Coppo Park throughout the summer! See you at 20.30!
