The Izola Male Choir has inherited the long-standing singing tradition of the seaside town of Izola, where various vocal ensembles have successfully performed in the past. Today, the singers sing love, wine, partisan and sacred hymns a capella as well as accompanied by instruments. They regularly take part in the Primorska poje festival, and have also sung at the bonfire night in Škocjan, at the Hungarian choir festival in Monošter, and at many events in Slovenia and in their home country. They are proud of the numerous performances of full-length concerts at the Krka Health Resort, as well as their participation in mass choirs in Kozjane with brass bands, at the Cathedral in Piran on the Feast of the Assumption in collaboration with the Coastal String Orchestra in the Ave Maris Stella project, and at national celebrations in Koper to commemorate the departure of the last JNA soldier from Slovenia and the Day of the Accession of Primorska to the Motherland. Their goals are a more demanding singing repertoire, with a touch of Izola, a seaside town, its multiculturalism and multilingualism. Since 2010, the choir has been directed by Professor Anton Baloh.
