At the end of September and the beginning of October, Izola – more precisely, Ljubljanska Street (Largo pri Špini) – will once again host the Street Film Festival, called UFF (Ulični filmski festival).
This will be the third edition of this “small festival,” which was initiated by the activists of Ljubljanska Street, the association Izolani, and the team of the bar Pri Kralju. Once again, they will prepare four film evenings, presenting three documentary films, one short feature film, and a few episodes of a comedy series by a local author.
On the final evening of the festival, Thursday, October 2 at 7 p.m., the documentary film about pilot and adventurer Jure Kraigher Žore, titled The Slovenian Who Flew Across a Century, will be screened.
The film, directed by Dušan Milavec and produced by the production company Kolut, tells the incredible life story of Žore from Hrašče near Postojna. He was a pilot in both World Wars, a record-holder in long-distance flights, one of the leading figures of Pan American, the head of rescue operations for downed American pilots in the Balkans, and a good friend of Marshal Tito.
