A biographical drama about Bruce Springsteen and the creation of the raw masterpiece Nebraska, recorded at home while battling the pressures of fame and the shadows of his past.
Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere takes us back to 1982, when Bruce Springsteen stood at a crossroads between his rising global fame and a deep inner emptiness. After years of touring and the success of The River, he finds himself in both a creative and personal crisis. Instead of recording another commercial hit, he retreats to his modest bedroom in New Jersey, where in solitude he begins to record songs that would become one of his most personal and haunting works – the album Nebraska.
With a simple four-track recorder, he captures raw, unpolished stories of lost souls, lonely travelers, and people on the fringes of society. The music becomes a mirror of his inner struggle and confrontation with his own demons. The film explores how, out of silence and pain, a masterpiece was born—one that, despite its lack of radio-friendliness, left an indelible mark on music history. Jeremy Allen White shines as “The Boss,” embodying the vulnerability, passion, and rebellion of a young Springsteen with remarkable intensity.
