Musical Literary Evening with Nika Solce
Location: City Library of Izola
Organizer: Mestna knjižnica Izola
Time: 7.00 pm
On the occasion of World Poetry Day and within the framework of the Kosovel Year, the Izola City Library invites you to a “MUSICAL LITERARY EVENING WITH NIKA SOLCE.”
In her artistic work, Nika Solce intertwines folk tradition, original music and musical settings of Slovenian poetry. With an exceptional sense for her own melodies, which she combines with musical influences from different parts of the world, her interpretations lead not only on a journey within and beyond ourselves, but are also remarkably original. The music she performs with various musicians and international ensembles blends folk tradition, original compositions and musical adaptations of poems by France Prešeren, Feri Lainšček, Srečko Kosovel, Alma Karlin and other Slovenian poets. This time the evening will be dedicated to Srečko Kosovel. His poems will resonate in musical interpretations that preserve the expressive power and purity of his poetry.
You are warmly invited to the reading room of the Izola City Library, where poetry, music and storytelling will intertwine in tribute to one of the most important Slovenian poets.
