Culinary event: the Istrian Flavours Day at the Bujol
Location: Restaurant Bujol
Time: 12.00 pm - 10.00 pm
Free entry
The BUJOL restaurant in the old town centre of Izola, on Manzioli Square, presents itself as a simple fish tavern, a "betula", offering its guests authentic fish dishes prepared according to old recipes. Using recipes dating back more than 100 years (bacalar, fillet of anchovies in olive oil, calamari with onions and many others), it serves fish from local fishermen, as well as selected seafood and other local delicacies.
With its fish dishes, the restaurant is a true ambassador of Izola, Istrian tradition and cuisine.
As a partner in the LAS Istria project Fishermen's Tales, the owner of the tavern, Alen Pušpan, will offer reasonably priced fish delicacies on the Tastes Day. Among other things, there will be dishes whose recipes have been handed down by old housewives and fishing families to Lucija Čok, author of the book Taste of the Sea - Old Istrian cuisine.
