Story:
May 1945, Ljubljana. After the end of the Second World War and the communist takeover of power, many opponents of communism leave Yugoslavia, retreating to Austrian Carinthia to the British Allies. On a medical train departing from Ljubljana, alongside wounded Home Guard soldiers, travel two doctors, Dr Janez Janež and Dr Valentin Meršol, with their families. Their principles and conscience are put to the test as they face the harsh truth that they cannot save everyone – the survival of some will mean the death of others.
