How did the small medieval town of Izola become part of Europe's great literary history?
The answer lies within the walls of the Podestà Palace, where decisions shaping the town's fate were made during the Venetian Republic and where a surprising connection between Izola and Dante's Divine Comedy comes to life today.
Join our free guided tour and discover the story of two precious medieval manuscripts created in Izola and now preserved in Venice and Paris. Learn about the town's former rulers and uncover the secrets of one of Izola's most important historic buildings.
Our journey through the centuries will begin at the new DANTE Visitor Centre in the Podestà Palace, where Izola's rich past meets modern ways of exploring cultural heritage.
