When Izola transforms once again into the Ice Island during the festive season, the town glows with thousands of lights and becomes a true fairytale setting.

You are warmly invited to join a festive stroll through Izola, guiding you along the most picturesque streets of the old town – from Pietro Coppo Park all the way to the Church of St. Maurus.

The walk is suitable for everyone: the route is easy, pleasant, and filled with warm, sparkling stories. Along the way, we will:

  •       - discover how a brave little dove once saved the town,

  •       - trace the presence of the Venetian Republic in Izola,

  •       - uncover how the sea shaped the life and character of the people of Izola,

  •       - peek into the world of our grandmothers who worked in the legendary Izola factories,

  •       - soak in the festive lights that turn the town into a real icy fairytale.

To make the experience even more playful, you will also encounter a riddle or a question along the path – just for fun, without competition or prizes, but with plenty of good spirit.
This guided walk is meant for everyone who wishes to enjoy a festive seaside experience filled with stories, legends, and genuine winter charm.
