Famous fairy tale characters from Kajetan Kovič’s book appear in a brand-new story. Maca the Cat returns from a trip to Paris, where she falls in love with fashion. In the Cat City, she opens a very special hat shop—one whose secret only a few know. When you say the magic cat spell just right, the hat you place on your head comes to life and takes you to the place where it was made.
Hat sales are going great—until Chombe the Cat, a feline who has just escaped from prison, discovers the secret. One quiet night, while the whole Cat City is sleeping, Chombe sneaks into the hat shop and “borrows” a few hats.
The next morning, Maca finds her shop completely empty—all her hats are gone. She calls the Cat Police and her good friend, Muri the Cat, for help. Luckily, some children were awake during the night and saw the thief in action. They tell Maca that it was Chombe who stole the hats.
A clever trap is set, Chombe is caught, and locked back in the cat prison.
