Biography
AKA Neomi is a Ljubljana-Volhynia-based band, whose core for several years now has been formed by singer and songwriter Saša Vipotnik and multi-instrumentalist and producer Mario Babojelić. They are accompanied by bassist Dejan Slak - Sleyk, drummer Marko Grubar and Igor Matković on trumpet.
At that time, Neomi were still fresh on the Slovenian pop scene with their first album Poglej (Look) and the now well-known songs "Open Your Eyes", "Čudovito" and "Poglej" (Look). A short pause followed, after which Neomi transformed in terms of membership and genre, their style veering into indie pop, trip hop and psychedelic noise. They performed at Waves Vienna in Austria, Westway Lab in Portugal, Eurosonic in the Netherlands and shared the stage with Roisin Murphy at her Ljubljana gig. Their second album, Beautiful Disasters, was released to positive reviews both at home and abroad and nominated for the Golden Pipe in the Album of the Year 2020 category. The health crisis put a bit of a damper on their plans, but they kept on making music.
