An acoustic performance by Duo Bossanoga (a tapestry of Brazilian melodies and Slovenian charm) with a special musical guest from Mali.
A freshly formed musical collective will take you on a warm journey through the poetic worlds of Brazilian and Slovenian songwriting, wrapped in the heartbeat of African rhythms and dances.
Bossanoga, a duo whose energy evokes the warmth of a beautiful sunny day, offers a soulful experience – a tender blend of guitar and voice, full of Brazilian saudade and playful lightness. They will be joined by Daouda Labouzou Kone, an outstanding multi-instrumentalist from Mali (djembe, calabash, drums and other percussion, ngoni, guitar, balafon…).
Daouda Labouzou Kone comes from a musical family in Mali – his mother is a singer and percussionist, his father a balafonist – so music has been a part of his life from birth. As a child, he performed at weddings and baptisms with his father. At the age of 11, he moved in with a master of djembe, where he studied intensively for five years. In honor of his teacher, he took on the nickname Labouzou.
He absorbs music like a sponge, and it seems that every instrument he touches comes alive. Soon, he became known as one of the best drummers in Ségou. At 25, he moved to the capital Bamako, where he began playing with some of Mali’s most celebrated musicians, including Amadou & Mariam, Fatim Diabate, Oumar Konate, Awa Maiga, Cheick Tidiane Seck, and many others.
Today, he is renowned as a top instrumentalist and a sought-after arranger. His deep knowledge of West African and global music styles, combined with a refined musical sensitivity, make him a unique artist.
He plays: djembe, congas, calabash, full drum kit, bara, balafon, guitar, ngoni, and kamelen'goni.
He is a regular member of the band of Mali's biggest star, Salif Keita, with whom he is currently on a European tour.
