The women’s choir Mirta was founded on December 3, 2018. Despite being relatively young, it has already proven itself to the residents of the Slovenian Istrian municipalities and visitors as a mature and trustworthy ambassador of music and beautiful singing. The choir includes singers from all four municipalities of Slovenian Istria, from Ankaran to Piran. They are united by music and friendship. So far, the choir has achieved numerous successes, holding independent concerts and touring both domestically and abroad. It regularly participates in the "Primorska poje" choral festival, the International Music Day in Piran, the "Fête de la Musique", and various municipal and regional choir reviews. Occasionally, it also collaborates with friendly choirs from Piran, Izola, Koper, and across the border. They frequently perform abroad as well. The choir is driven by a constant desire for progress and active participation in cultural life at all levels.
