At Pri Špini on Ljubljanska Street, the fourth discussion evening dedicated to the sea will take place, entitled Slovenian Maritime Affairs Through History.
The guest of the evening will be Jadran Klinec, head of the Slovenian Maritime Administration, a former seafarer and an expert on maritime transport. Maritime traffic in the northern Adriatic is steadily increasing, mainly due to the growing volume of cargo handled at the Port of Koper.
How much additional traffic can the Gulf of Trieste accommodate, and how can it be effectively monitored? We will hear the answers first-hand. Journalist Dean Jelačin will talk with the guest about the merchant navy past and present, navigation rules and safety in the northern Adriatic, as well as the risks we face in such a small and shallow body of water as the Slovenian sea.
The event will be organised within the framework of the EUSAIR Facility Point – Supporting the EUSAIR governance for improved cooperation project, co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg IPA Adrion 2021–2027 programme.
The event will be held in Slovenian.
