On Saturday, 20 September 2025, at 11 a.m., the Plac Izolanov Gallery in Izola will host the opening of an exhibition of paintings by Barbara Jurkovšek, winner of this year’s Ex-tempore in Piran. Jurkovšek (Ljubljana, 1981) graduated and obtained a master’s degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, and further trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Lecce in Italy. Her works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Slovenia and abroad, from the USA to across Europe. Since 2009 she has been a freelance cultural worker, creating in Izola and Dol pri Ljubljani in the fields of painting, sculpture, printmaking, calligraphy and scientific illustration.

The exhibition will be on view until 10 October 2025.
