Catalan filmmaker Carla Simón (Summer 1993, Alcarràs) once again delves into her family’s history to weave a story of memory — both real and imagined — and reconstruct the lives of her parents.
Eighteen-year-old Marina travels to Vigo, on Spain’s Atlantic coast, to meet the family of her biological father. Both her parents died when she was very young. Her arrival stirs long-buried emotions and reopens wounds that have never healed. Through encounters with her large extended family, Marina gradually pieces together fragmented and often contradictory memories of her mother and father.
