The story follows teenager Marty McFly, who accidentally travels back to 1955—30 years into the past. His eccentric friend, scientist Doc Brown, has converted a car into a time machine. In the past, Marty meets his future parents, and his mother unexpectedly falls in love with him. Marty must ensure that his parents fall in love and marry while also finding the younger Doc Brown and convincing him that time travel is possible.
