Theatre Performance for Children: Thumbelina

Thumbelina is a gentle and imaginative story about courage, friendship and true love. The tiny girl, no bigger than a thumb, is kidnapped by a deceitful old toad and faces many challenges and unusual characters on her journey to freedom. Children also help her escape, while a kind field mouse, a dull mole and a swallow that may still be able to change Thumbelina’s fate all play important roles in the story.

Based on Andersen’s famous fairy tale, the performance explores finding one’s place in the world, staying true to oneself and discovering a strength that comes not from size, but from the purity of the heart. Through its fairy-tale world, children learn about kindness, honesty, courage and friendship, as well as the message that after every rain, the sun shines again.

The ticket price for an individual performance is €7.

The performance is also part of the Children’s Subscription Series, which can be purchased until the first performance, 10 October 2026.

The Children’s Subscription Series costs €25 for children, while the price for an accompanying adult is €20.
