THE MERRY DAY OF CULTURE
The Merry Day of Culture, introduced in Slovenia in 2000 at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture to mark the bicentenary of the birth of France Prešeren, the nation’s greatest poet, is today a well-established unofficial holiday celebrated every year on 3 December, his birthday. This day symbolically honours Slovenia’s rich art and its creators.
Every year on this day, culture comes to life, and a diverse programme offers a colourful array of free cultural events: exhibitions, theatre and dance performances, concerts, film screenings, workshops and many other activities for visitors of all ages.
The Izola Municipal Library, within the Learning Centre – Centre for Lifelong Learning, has prepared a Printmaking Workshop with Barbara Motoh for this occasion.
On Wednesday, 3 December 2025, at 5 p.m., it invites everyone to the reading room of the Izola Municipal Library, where participants will enter the world of lines, textures and colours, discovering various printmaking techniques and printing processes – from the basics to more experimental approaches. The workshop is intended for adults of all creative levels, and no prior knowledge is required. All materials will be provided by the library. Participants only need to bring curiosity and a desire to create.
The number of places is limited, so prior registration is required at +386 5 663 12 84, in person at the library or by email: erika.gregoric@guest.arnes.si.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate the moment when cultural heritage, creative spirit and the bonds that connect us through time are honoured!
