Did you know that Izola was once an island? Although it has been connected to the mainland for centuries, every year it transforms into an island once again for a few weeks – Ice Island!
From 4 December 2026 to early January 2027, Izola will come alive with festive lights, music and winter experiences. A magical festive atmosphere awaits by the sea, delighting both little ones and everyone looking to spend quality time in good company.
Festive Magic by the Sea
Once again this year, Pietro Coppo Park will be the heart of Ice Island, dressed in its festive finest. Stroll among sparkling decorations, soak up the town's festive atmosphere and warm up with a hot winter drink.
Adding to the festive spirit will be concerts on Fridays and Saturdays, bringing music, joy and plenty of opportunities to come together and celebrate in Izola.
Festive celebrations also at Lonka
At the end of December, the festive celebrations will also move to Lonka, where we will say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one together. From 30 December to 2 January, a varied programme of events promises a lively start to 2027.
