Road closures for the 12th Grand Prix of Slovenian Istria

Please be informed that on Sunday, 22 March 2026, a special traffic regime will be in place in Izola due to the 12th Grand Prix of Slovenian Istria.

Traffic regime and road closures
To ensure the safe execution of the event, full and temporary road closures, as well as temporary traffic restrictions, will be implemented on the day of the race.

Full closures
Industrijska Street (from Eurospin/Petrol to the Industrijska–Kajuhova roundabout):

• Saturday, 21 March 2026: from 20:00 to 22:00

• Sunday, 22 March 2026: from 06:00 to 19:00

Temporary full closures and traffic disruptions
On sections where the race will take place, traffic will be:

• completely closed intermittently between 13:00 and approximately 17:30,

• particularly disrupted:

  • between 13:00 and 16:20 (main laps),

  • between 16:20 and 17:15 (final laps).

Key streets and areas in Izola
Traffic restrictions will affect a wider area of Izola, including:

• Industrijska Street

• Kajuhova Street

• Prešernova Street

• Cankarjev Drevored

• Trg republike

• Drevored 1. maja

• Dantejeva Street

• Morova Street

• Simon’s Bay area

• connections towards Belvedere, Baredi and Livade

Visitors and drivers are kindly asked to:

• follow traffic signage,

• comply with instructions from the police and event staff,

• plan their journeys in advance.

Despite the traffic restrictions, the race will offer an outstanding sporting experience.
