Traffic closures during the Istrian Cycling Marathon

On Saturday and Sunday, 26 and 27 September 2026, Izola will host the Istrian Cycling Marathon, one of the largest recreational cycling events in Istria. Due to the event, temporary traffic closures will be in place on certain roads and areas in Izola.

Cankarjev drevored near the main event venue will be closed:

• on Saturday, 26 September, from 16:45 to 18:00,
• on Sunday, 27 September, from 7:00 to 16:00.

On Sunday, a short mobile road closure will also be in place between 9:50 and 10:30 on the Izola–Šared route.

The smaller car park by the shipyard, where the main event venue will be located, will be closed from Thursday, 24 September at 6:00 until Sunday, 27 September at 22:00.

Visitors and residents are advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow the temporary traffic signs.
