Ángela’s deafness during pregnancy raises concerns about her ability to bond with her daughter. After giving birth, her partner Héctor supports her as she learns to navigate motherhood in a society that lacks proper accommodations for the hearing-impaired.
The film takes us into the world of the deaf and, through bold directorial choices – from the use of sign language to adopting the protagonist’s perspective with complete focus on her gaze – seeks to bring us as close as possible to understanding life in silence.
