The Fishermen’s Fest is a traditional event with more than 60 years of history. This celebration of fish and fishermen is a true Mediterranean fiesta, featuring a rich culinary offer, especially fish dishes, performances by well-known musicians, numerous entertaining games, as well as sporting and cultural events. Visitors will discover something new at every turn: the traditional initiation of new rowers and sailors, a mini swimming marathon, fish specialities and tastings of typical Istrian delicacies.
And we will celebrate together again in 2026 – save the date: 21 and 22 August!

In addition to the main music programme, music will also be heard from the North Pier and from the Bariera, Wine Bar Zaro and Vitaminček Bar venues.
FLAVOURS OF THE FISHERMEN’S FEST
Food and refreshments will be available at numerous locations throughout the town. Food and drink stalls will be set up at Veliki trg, in Verdijeva ulica, at the Small Fishing Pier, between the two piers opposite Hotel Marina, and in the Lonka area.
On both evenings, from 7.00 p.m. to 2.00 a.m., a smaller food and drink area called “Pomol pu naše” will come to life on the North Pier. Four food trucks on Sončno nabrežje will provide an additional culinary attraction.
CHILDREN’S CORNER AND AMUSEMENT PARK
There will also be plenty of fun for the youngest visitors! On both days, from 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., the stage at the Lonka car park will host a Children’s Corner for children aged 2 to 10.

ADRENALINE-FILLED AMUSEMENT PARK
On both days, from 5.00 p.m. to 2.00 a.m., Lonka will also host a real adrenaline-filled children’s amusement park! Children will be able to enjoy water zorbing balls, jumping trampolines, an inflatable castle and slide, a children’s train and a carousel.
ISTRIAN MARKET
On Sončno nabrežje, visitors will be able to browse the stalls of the Istrian Market, where local producers will present their homemade products. On both days, from 7.00 p.m. to 2.00 a.m., visitors will be able to taste olive oil, wines and spice blends, and purchase cosmetics or unique gift items.
SPORTS PROGRAMME
Saturday will begin in a true maritime spirit. Between 8.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m., traditional rowing and sailing regattas will take place in the waters by the North Pier.
The sports programme will continue at 7.00 p.m. with the traditional initiation ceremony for rowers and sailors.
On Sončno nabrežje, in front of the Izola Tourist Information Centre, visitors will also be able to visit the information point of the Izola Football Club, learn more about the club’s activities and find out about enrolling children for the new sports season.
FISHING WORKSHOPS – DISCOVER IZOLA’S FISHING TRADITION
On both days, from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., the rich fishing heritage of Izola will be brought to life at the Small Fishing Pier.
On Friday, 21 August, old boats will sail into Mandrač, followed by a presentation of the traditional tasks of a fishing family – from cleaning fish and working with nets to preparing food and displaying boats.
On Saturday, 22 August, visitors can enjoy fishermen’s social games and a traditional morra tournament, organised in cooperation with the Fined association.
RAFFLE
Two Izola sports clubs will also provide visitors with an opportunity to try their luck.
Friday, 21 August: raffle organised by the Izola Volleyball Club in front of the Harbour Master’s Office
Saturday, 22 August: raffle organised by the Izola Handball Club on the square opposite the Fishing Pier
Both raffles will take place from 7.00 p.m. to 2.00 a.m.
