16% Increase in Arrivals in the First Four Months
According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (experimental statistics), Slovenian Istria recorded 207,644 arrivals and 569,873 overnight stays in the first four months of this year, representing a 16% increase in arrivals and a 15% rise in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
Approximately 65% of all arrivals were foreign guests, with their share increasing by over 30%.
These results confirm the successful efforts of the four Istrian municipalities to extend the season and develop a diverse offering beyond the summer months.

Celebrating Istrian Wines
This weekend, May 17th and 18th, join the celebration of the king of Istrian wines – Refosco – accompanied by fine cuisine and music at the Refoscio and Slovenian Istria Festival.
On the 24th of May step into a world of roses and rosé at a unique celebration in the Rose Garden, Portorož. This event promises an abundance of elegance and charm. At the end of the month, on May 31, get to know all varieties of Istrian wines up close, as Slovenian Istria's winemakers once again open their cellars for the OKI – Open Days of Istria's Wineries event.
Culinary Delights Continue in May
On Saturday, May 24th, Tito Square in Koper will host Teden restavracij na ulici (Restaurant Week on the Street), featuring renowned chefs like Tomaž Bratovž, Martina Breznik, and Marko Magajne. Our local culinary masters will delight us at the Pier of tastes on Saturday, May 31st.
Slovenian Istria's restaurateurs will come together again for the Culinary Days, celebrating the queen sardine from May 23rd to June 8th.
